Ezra Goes on Vacation

We considered ourselves the luckiest people when we found out that Jace and Victoria would be getting married in Sacramento so that we would be able to spend time with BOTH of our families during one trip. Although flights from Charlotte to Sacramento and Salt Lake aren't super expensive, we knew that even though we had saved up a lot of days for his vacation we still wouldn't have as much time as we would like.
Ezra was a champ on the flight to Sacramento and as soon as we got on the plane people looked at us like we were crazy for bringing such a little guy on the plane, but due to the comments that we received after the flight was over and he hadn't made a peep I think that we could consider him a seasoned traveler. He slept the whole time on our laps as he slept to the sweet engine lullaby.
We spend the first few days in California letting Ezra meet his great grandparents and tasting a nut burger. Despite loving hanging out with Nana and Bompa, he screamed for 4 hours straight one night. It was great....
The sealing with great and it was such a fun thing to be with my whole family- something that hasn't happened since, well, ever. During the sealing, Ezra spent his time with Nana and Mason in his stroller in the waiting room. Who would have thought that after no rain in the area, it would decide to rain the day that got married.
We were also so excited to be able to bless our little Ezra with both of our families there! After weeks of not being able to quite settle with his name, Sam changed it during the blessing from Ezra Jackson Basilius to Ezra Samuel Basilius and since then we haven't thought another thing of it.

Our time in California was great, but we still had a 10 hour drive ahead of us to get to Utah. Ezra did great on the drive and we stopped frequently so that he could burp and stretch but by the end of drive he knew that he was going to be in his carseat for a while and was done. We were so glad that we had the chance to visit with some of our favorite friends, the Childs, while we were there. Too bad they left us in Charlotte for American Fork. What are the chances, seriously.
While we were there Ezra also got to meet his BFF cousin Ezra. We loved it. Probably more than he did ;)
We scored big time when the flight attendants told us that they had an extra seat on the plane so they moved people around so that we could have a whole row to ourselves. Ezra loved having his own seat and although he didn't sleep at all on the flight home, he didn't cry either.
